The first time I made these Mini Cheeseburger Skewers for my kids, they were an instant hit!

They loved the crunch and added flavor of the Furlani garlic Texas toast instead of a traditional bun, the juicy burger and how easy they are to customize with all of their favorite toppings.

It can be hard to get the kids excited about trying something new, but their eyes lit up at the sight of these fun kabobs! Letting them get in the kitchen and help to build them meant that they disappeared quickly once they hit the table! (Then again, any dinner recipe with Furlani garlic Texas toast usually does!).

Why we love these Mini Cheeseburger Skewers:

The fun size: if you’re a regular at feeding kids, you know that you can take almost anything and make a bite-sized version and the kids will gobble it up. I don’t know what it is — but food on a stick is just more fun!

They’re easy to customize: if your kids are selective eaters, you know that their preferences are changing constantly (to be fair — mine do, too!). With these little burger bites, everyone can get involved in building them with their favorite toppings.

They’re big on flavor: flavor is key in any meal you put on the family dinner table, and these mini burgers paired with the crisp, garlicky flavor or Furlani Texas toast is a winner every time! It definitely takes these Mini Cheeseburgers up a notch from your average burger recipe.

Mini Cheeseburger Skewers Ingredients Needed:

Furlani garlic Texas toast: is a must have in this recipe! You can cut the toast slices into the perfect mini size, and they toast up so golden and flavorful that I wouldn’t swap them for a regular bun. Plus, because they’re more crisp than a bun they don’t get soggy before you serve them.

Burgers: this is a simple homemade burger recipe that includes lean ground beef, barbecue sauce, egg, bread crumbs and some simple seasonings. You can use any ground meat you like here, and swap up the seasonings if you prefer. The barbecue sauce adds big flavor so I wouldn’t leave it out!

Burger Toppings: it goes without saying that you can choose your favorite toppings and take or leave any of the ones I have listed in the recipe — these are just our preferences!

How to store Mini Cheeseburger Skewers:

These Burger Bites are best eaten right after preparing, so I don’t recommend storing them for later if possible.

If you have leftovers, you can refrigerate for up to 3 days. I recommend reheating in a 400 degree F oven or in the air fryer for best results.

Can I prep these ahead?

Absolutely! Here are a couple ways to save time:

Make the mini burgers and refrigerate or freeze until ready to cook (you can cook right from frozen!)

Prep your toppings: slice cheese, slice tomatoes and tear or cut lettuce into pieces.

Serving suggestions:

These Mini Cheeseburger Skewers are a meal all on their own, but you can serve them with Air Fryer French Fries and a tall glass of Easy Homemade Pink Lemonade.
